COVID-19: Impact on Consumer Attitudes Toward Health Plan Benefits

Health plans are grappling with a significant challenge during COVID-19: Individuals
are not engaging with their healthcare team as often as they did prior to the pandemic. Vulnerable populations, especially those on Medicare and Medicaid, are having to
find new ways to maintain their health at home.

In a survey, conducted by a third party, nearly 2,000 Medicare and Medicaid recipients
were asked to share their opinions about common healthcare activities and benefits.

In this study, enrollees were asked questions such as:

  • How they feel about common health-related activities
  • Whether home-delivered meals are more/less important during the pandemic
  • Which supplemental benefits and services they’d like their insurance plans to cover
