Vegetarian Meal Delivery
Fully-prepared meals free from beef, pork, poultry and fish
Are you a vegetarian?
Approximately six to eight million adults in the United States practice vegetarianism, according to a Harris Interactive Poll commissioned by the Vegetarian Resource Group. The appeal of becoming a vegetarian have grown over the years due to the increased availability of fresh produce. Reasons for choosing a vegetarian diet varies from person to person.
To accommodate the needs of vegetarians who want or need fully-prepared meals delivered to their home, Mom’s Meals offers a full menu of meals that include dairy and eggs but are free from beef, pork, poultry and fish.
What does it mean to be a vegetarian?
To be a vegetarian is to consume non-animal-based foods, such as fruits, vegetables, grains, legumes, seeds and yeast. Dairy products, honey and eggs can be included at the discretion of the vegetarian. This diet excludes foods that consist of or have been produced from animals, which includes but is not limited to meat, poultry, and fish.
Following recommended guidelines on nutrition, fat consumption and weight control, vegetarians can build plant-based meals that serve their nutritional needs, and in some cases receive health benefits that help with the prevention and treatment of certain diseases.
Reasons for choosing vegetarianism range from a personal health choice to concerns about animal welfare to a desire to conserve our environmental resources.
What is a vegetarian meal?
The vegetarian menu options from Mom’s Meals are all “lacto-ovo vegetarian,” which means meals include dairy, eggs, beans, plant proteins and nuts. The meals are all dietitian-approved and contain no animal proteins.
